Getting to Koblenz
You are advised to fly into Frankfurt airport (FRA) and then take a train to Koblenz Hbf. The train journey typically lasts between 1 hour 10 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes. To explore your train connections and pre-book tickets, please follow this link to Deutsche Bahn's website. Make sure to set your departure station as "Frankfurt(M)Flughafen" and your destination as "Koblenz Hbf".
We encourage you to opt for a direct train which involves no changes. The site will display options for both long-distance trains (IC or ICE) and regional trains (RE). Both types follow the same route but regional trains make more stops and thus take longer. They depart from different train stations in the airport: "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf" for long-distance trains and "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Regionalbf" for regional trains. Both stations are conveniently located within the airport. If you wish to indulge in sightseeing or enjoy some fine wine at the various vineyards along the route, we recommend you take a regional train.
The trains trace the picturesque route along the river Rhine, passing through the scenic Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage site. The journey is adorned with numerous castles, fortresses, and a famous wine-growing region, offering a feast to the eyes.
Banquet
The banquet will take place on a spacious event cruise ship while taking a 3-hour cruise on the Rhine. Please follow the walking directions to the boat dock from the main venue.
Poster Session
The poster session and reception will take place at the historic Ehrenbreitstein castle overlooking the city and the confluence of Mosel and Rhein.
From the conference venue, the fortress can be reached by a 35-minute walk along the Rhine river followed by a cable car ride across the river and up the hill.
